Les Jardins du Marais, Paris

Les Jardins du Marais

Paris, France

A tranquil hotel in the fashionable Marais district, Les Jardins du Marais is set away from the bustle of the streets but just a short walk from the historic Place des Vosges and the impressive Picasso Museum. The four buildings that make up the hotel encircle one long central courtyard lined with elegant tables, white umbrellas and small gardens.

The contemporary hotel bar features bold purple velvets and quirky furniture, though you can choose to have breakfast or an evening drink outside in the courtyard in good weather. There are also plenty of delightful restaurants for the evening within walking distance of the hotel in the lively Marais district.

The elegant rooms offer all modern amenities, from flat-screen TVs to free Wi-Fi, with the addition of a special smartphone for each room, allowing guests to remain connected to the internet while walking around the city, or to call home to friends and family at no additional cost. There is also a modern gym and a chic spa where guests can receive treatment in peaceful rooms with exposed masonry.

OUR OPINION:

We like this hotel for its long cobbled interior courtyard, quiet location and proximity to one of Paris’s best loved squares, the Place des Vosges in the fashionable Marais district. Rooms are contemporary and simple, but bright and comfortable.

All room categories feature flat-screen TVs, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi as well as marble bathrooms, though only the highest room categories have a separate bath and shower. In addition, each room has a special smartphone that guests are able to use for the duration of their stay to remain connected to the internet throughout the city, find maps and directions, and even call home for no additional charge.

The Marais neighborhood is a fashionable district of Paris filled with restaurants, bars and plenty of designer boutiques. There is no restaurant on site, though there is a trendy cocktail bar with an extensive menu of French wines, sparkling champagne and signature cocktails. You can sit indoors in the contemporary bar or take a seat in the shade outdoor under one of the large white umbrellas in the courtyard. There are also countless restaurants and cafés, to suit all budgets, within walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel offers a sleek spa set in peaceful rooms that make a feature of the exposed stonework of the historic building.
