Hayfield Manor offers a level of grandeur that transcends its age. Discreetly nestled within its own private grounds, this family-owned and managed red brick, vine-covered country manor is a hidden oasis only a short walk from the heart of Cork.

The property’s warm ambience can be felt in the old-fashioned library furnished with antiques, leather armchairs and a fireplace that’s often ablaze. The elegant, candlelit Orchids Restaurant and the more relaxed Perrotts Garden Bistro both feature gourmet cuisine, prepared using fresh, local ingredients.

The classically-styled rooms are similarly lavish in their design and include special touches such as mini bathrobes and slippers for little ones. Some rooms even feature a hotel pet such as a rabbit or a goldfish.

Rooms

Although each of the spacious guest rooms is individually decorated, they’re all lavishly furnished with unique upholstery and comfy armchairs, and offer views of the gardens from wide windows. They are quite grand in style and are decorated in shades of white and cream with golden accents, and feature antique furniture and classical artwork. Rooms are also equipped with modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, DVD player, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning and spacious marble bathrooms fitted with heated towel rails. Most higher level room categories have a separate bath and shower. To contribute to a unique and memorable stay, select rooms are home to a hotel pet. 

Location

Located on the edge of Cork, directly opposite University College Cork, this secluded country manor is set within leafy grounds. With its private walled gardens it feels worlds away from the city’s bustling streets but there are vibrant cafés just around the corner and the heart of Cork can be reached in a leisurely 20 to 30-minute walk or a ten-minute drive. 

Food and drink

Breakfast is a cold buffet with a vast array of fruit, cereals, yogurts, homemade soda bread and freshly squeezed juices complemented by hot dishes and refreshing mimosas. Freshly prepared cakes, sandwiches and homemade chocolates are served as part of the award-winning afternoon tea. In the evening, the Orchids Restaurant serves contemporary Irish cuisine, while Perrotts Garden Bistro offers a choice of Mediterranean and international dishes.

Families

Special thought has gone into making Hayfield Manor a good base for families. In addition to offering family and interconnecting guest rooms, special touches include mini bathrobes and slippers as well as a bedtime cookies and milk. Afternoon tea includes milkshakes, chocolate brownies and an assortment of sandwiches for children. Healthy, child-friendly menus are also available and babysitting can be arranged.

Facilities and activities

The bright and airy fitness studio is well equipped with a selection of cardiovascular machines and free weights. Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the area will natural light and offer views of the hotel’s enclosed walled garden. The spa includes an outdoor Jacuzzi and six luxurious treatment rooms.

Accessibility

The hotel has a number of accessible rooms that can be reserved at the time of booking. Guests with limited mobility are also able to request rooms closer to the elevator.
