The beautiful Sicilian country estate of Monaci delle Terre Nere is located on the slopes of Mount Etna. Based around a 19th-century country manor, the property’s rooms are either in the main house or dotted throughout the surrounding gardens and vineyards. Monaci delle Terre Nere offers an intriguing blend between a rustic agriturismo (farm stay) and a chic, modern design hotel.

Inside the main house you’ll find a range of striking modern artwork and an old winepress, which has been converted into a stylish bar. The hotel takes its Slow Food designation very seriously and most of the restaurant’s meals are sourced from the property’s organic farm. Cooking classes and wine tastings can also be arranged on site.

OUR OPINION:

A uniquely modern yet rustic country escape, we find the Monaci delle Terre Nere to be a perfect retreat from the bustle of daily life.
