Pearl Harbor Tour

This visit to Pearl Harbor explores where the attack on 7th December, 1941 took place, when Japanese aircraft destroyed large parts of the United States Pacific Fleet. This triggered the USA's involvement in World War II. Throughout the tour, your guide will provide you with insights and background information about the attack and the events leading up to it.

After a transfer from your downtown hotel, your visit starts at the Pacific Historic Parks Pearl Harbor Visitor Center which has a fascinating collection of relics, replicas and media displays that help to tell the story of that fateful day. From here, you can gaze across the water to Ford Island, which lay in the midst of the attack, and imagine the residents waking up on a Sunday morning to chaos and destruction. Today, Pearl Harbor comprises several gardens, memorials and two museums to commemorate those who lost their lives.

You’ll then board a boat for a trip across the harbour to the USS Arizona Memorial, a poignant monument built over the remains of the sunken ship in which many people are entombed. This is a standing tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor (all visitors are asked to respect this area and keep noise to a minimum whilst on the memorial).
