Ibiti Project

The Ibiti Project is a 3,000 hectare private reserve and sustainability initiative whose principal objectives are the reforestation of native flora and the preservation of important wildlife corridors.

Located in the heart of rural Minas Gerais, the centerpiece of the reserve is Fazenda do Engenho, one of Brazil’s finest small hotels. The traditional farmhouse building dates back to 1715. It has eight sumptuous guest rooms, a restaurant, spa, sauna and hydro-massage pool. The lodge also stables Mangalarga and Anglo-Arabian horses so that guests can explore the stunning surroundings of waterfalls and mountains on horseback, foot or 4x4 vehicle.

Each room is stylishly decorated using local handicrafts and original furniture. All rooms have king size beds (some of which can be adapted to twin beds), Egyptian cotton sheets, comfortable armchairs, iPod amplifier and telephone. The bathrooms are fitted with underfloor heating, a Victorian style bath and heated showers, as well as a myriad of stylish touches that you would expect in a hotel of this quality.

A stay at this pousada includes two excursions per day, which can be done on foot, horseback or mountain bike.
