East Winds is tucked within a secluded spot along the La Brelotte Bay, along the North West cost of Saint Lucia, just over an hour's drive from Hewanorra International Airport by car.
Although it’s not the only resort within the bay, the natural setting provides the illusion of a private beach. The rugged coastline is sheltered by palm trees and lush green vegetation.
Food and drink
The resorts main restaurant ‘Flamboyant’ is open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner. The menus pay attention to fresh produce; with daily catches from the abundant surrounding seas, fruits and vegetables from local farmers as well as their own on-site kitchen garden. The chefs create a range of tempting cuisine from Caribbean to international dishes, plates can be created to suit individual dietary preferences and requirements.
Breakfast and lunch are self-service, relaxed dining affairs with table service for drinks. Spend the day relaxing in your beachfront cabana with traditional rum punch ‘Ti Ponche’ being served directly to you. Feeling inspired? Visit the pools swim up, self-service bar to create your own refreshing cocktail.
Please note that dinner is full service and a dress code of smart, casual with long trousers for men is requested.
Most evenings at East Winds tend to start with a social gathering; meet for cocktail receptions or a spot of rum tasting, where guests can meet and enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres before parting for their evening meal.
Friday’s pre-dinner beach party and barbecue featuring grilled lobster and live music are not to be missed.
Children aged eight and over are welcome at East Winds. However, due to the mature nature of the resort and lack of children’s activities, it is probably better suited for older children.
Facilities and activities
The resort has one pool which sits at a comfortable 28 degrees all year round — it's situated within the gardens, close to the beach and features a swim up bar. Visit the on-site water ports team for a selection of non-motorized water sports such as; Hobie Cats, snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking.
Complimentary Yoga and Pilates classes take place four times a week in the resorts Yoga pavilion. Alternatively, enjoy a workout overlooking the beautiful vegetation in the tree top gym, located at the top of the property.
Cocktail classes, cooking classes, rum tasting and nature walks are just a few of the activities included in your stay.
There are a range of exclusive experiences provided by the resort daily. Follow the weekly schedule to take part in sunset boat cruises, traditional Caribbean cooking classes and even indulge in a chocolate making class.
During the cool morning air, you can take a guided walk around the resort and its surrounding area. Join the resorts garden tour with their head gardener to see some of the species and plant life that East Winds offers.
The open-air spa pavilion at East Winds focuses on using natural, organic ingredients grown within the resort’s gardens. Their two private treatment rooms provide a range of therapies to relax and rejuvenate.
Environmental and social responsibility
East Winds ‘Family Foundation’ works to support the children of the staff working at the property. With the donation of 1USD per room, per night, it enables children to stay in school by assisting with the purchase of necessary school books, stationary and school bags for their education.
One of the more well-established resorts in Saint Lucia, East Winds laid back vibe provides luxury in its simplest form. The small resort is modest in the facilities it offers but delivers on the gentle house party, island atmosphere that is the East Winds community. The hotel dog Stanley roams the resort during the daytime, so this property may not be suited to those who are not fond of dogs.
