This beautiful guesthouse was once a former Governor’s residence and is without doubt the most charming in the north of Cambodia. Infused with Gallic charm, Terres Rouge is a wonderful blend of dark wood, local textile wall hangings and sculptures. The rooms in the main house are fan-cooled, while the newer bungalows dotted throughout the gardens are air-conditioned. Each is uniquely decorated, giving a sense of stepping back to a time of headhunters and explorers.
The restaurant offers an extensive menu of Cambodian and French cuisine, while the well stocked bar has been voted by Time Asia the ‘best bar in the middle of nowhere’, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Set away from the main road among lush tropical gardens overlooking the lake, the hotel also has a beautiful swimming pool, which makes this a great place to base yourself while exploring the area.
