As the premier remote fly-in lodge in the Northwest Territories, owner-operated Blachford Lake Lodge is dedicated to providing a unique northern experience. Guests come from around the world to enjoy the splendour and remoteness of the great Canadian boreal forests, with an eco-friendly focus. Located in the vicinity of the Great Slave Lake, the lodge is reached by an exhilarating 20-minute bush plane flight from Yellowknife.
The main lodge offers comfortable rooms that share spacious and spotlessly clean nearby bathrooms, a lounge with telescope, library area, and a dining room where delicious home-cooked meals are served. The clean air and peace of the wilderness are conducive to adventure, and the lodge offers superb fishing, hiking trails, canoeing, kayaking, and mountain biking.
During winter you can go dog-sledding, ice fishing, tobogganing on seal skins, sleep in the snow house, play hockey, skate on the ice rink, or enjoy the excellent outdoor hot tub. Year round, you can take part in Blachford's Dene cultural experience that includes traditional hand games, drumming, and the story of the Dogrib people.
Blachford Lake Lodge offers a superb base to see the spectacular aurora borealis, best seen from late August until the end of April.
