Brewster’s Mountain Lodge is named after the Brewster family, who have lived in the town for six generations and were some of the first to set up businesses here. Its humble Western style reflects the days of early exploration, with historical photographs of early pioneers and Banff’s streets mounted on the walls. Log furnishings add to the property’s traditional mountain lodge feel.
The property offers 68 rooms and 9 suites, some of which have access to a shared courtyard. Beds are draped in woollen blankets, and amenities include a TV, en suite bathroom, complimentary Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities. A continental breakfast is also included in your stay.
You can make use of the whirlpool and sauna between 10am and 10pm, and there’s a small library with books, games and a computer with printer.
You can read more about Banff’s heritage and the Brewster family in the guest book located in your room.
There are a number of room options to choose from here. Standard rooms have two double beds, while deluxe rooms offer a choice of one double queen or king bed, or two queen beds, as well as featuring jetted tubs and sitting areas. There are also nine suites, some of which are named after members of the Brewster family. These feature a loft bedroom, a larger sitting room and mountain views.
All rooms are decorated in a rustic Western style and come with free Wi-Fi, satellite TVs, and tea and coffee making facilities.
The lodge is situated in the heart of Banff, just off the town’s main street. The downtown area’s wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs are right on your doorstep, while the many outdoor activities that Banff National Park is known for are within easy reach either on foot, by car or by local transit.
Food and Drink
A complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning in the Breakfast Nook, comprising pastries, breads, fruits and cereals. For all other meals, head outside and you can choose from one of Banff’s many restaurants, cafes and pubs.
Facilities and Activities
The lodge has a whirlpool and a sauna where you can relax at the end of the day. Or unwind in the small library, where there’s a limited selection of books and games to choose from. Heated underground parking is available for around $5 per night (plus tax). Drinks, snacks and ice are available from vending machines on each floor.
There is one wheelchair-accessible room at the lodge, which can be reached by elevator. It has features grab bars in the bathroom and a raised toilet, as well as enjoying a private balcony.
Conveniently situated in central Banff, we like Brewster’s Mountain Lodge for its rustic charm, its sense of heritage and its friendly service. Make time for a soak in the whirlpool to ease any aching muscles.
