On this early morning tour, you’ll experience exclusive access to Moraine Lake as the sun rises, and golden hour on Lake Louise.
When picturing a trip to Canada, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise are often the first images and places we think of, having gained notoriety for their vibrant turquoise hue surrounded by jagged mountain peaks. With their popularity, it’s become increasingly difficult to see the lakes with any ease and without the crowds. This group tour offers a solution by visiting the lakes before most people have woken up.
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Banff in the early hours of the morning, typically at about 4am, as it starts getting lighter. Your comfortable van or minibus will take you straight to Moraine Lake and up to the Rockpile where you’ll have the best views as the sun peeks over the mountains, highlighting them and the lake in bright pink and orange tones. This tour has almost exclusive access to the lake at this time, so pretty much the only other people around will be staying at the lodge.
As you take in the scenery, your guide will serve a complimentary hot drink and tell you about the lake’s history. You’ll then journey north to Lake Louise for a warming cafe breakfast, included in the tour. You then have free time to explore the lake in the early morning tranquillity, enjoying peaceful reflections, lakeside strolls or canoe adventures. Once you’ve soaked up the natural beauty here, you’ll be taken back to your hotel in Banff. The tour lasts about seven hours total.
