Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, your Audley representative will meet you at the airport and escort you through customs. Your private driver will then take you to your hotel. You have the rest of the evening to settle into your hotel, the Four Seasons First Residence, located in downtown Cairo.

This morning, you'll be collected from your hotel for a full-day, privately guided tour of the pyramids at Giza, Saqqara, and Dahshur. You'll visit the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur, one of the earliest examples of pyramid architecture, before working your way back to Cairo, visiting the stepped pyramid of Saqqara and the behemoths at Giza.

Today, you'll be collected by your driver early in the morning for a day-long trip to Faiyum, an area renowned for its lush fields of vegetables and sugar cane, as well as the Wadi El Hitan World Heritage Site. Your private guide will talk you through the hundreds of well-preserved whale skeletons and skeletons of other animals, which were discovered in the early 1900s. After a fascinating day, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Cairo.

After breakfast, you are taken for a privately guided tour of the new Grand Egyptian Museum, which houses a wealth of Pharaonic treasures. In the afternoon, you'll head to an area of old Cairo which remains largely undiscovered by tourists. You follow the trail of the Gamalia project in Al-Darb Al-Ahmar district, where you'll see beautiful, recently restored Islamic monuments, and visit local craftspeople making traditional handicrafts.

Spend the morning at leisure at your hotel. In the early afternoon, you'll be met by your private driver, who will transfer you north out of Cairo and on to Alexandria. The drive takes around three hours, depending on Cairo’s notorious traffic. Spend the evening acquainting yourselves with Alexandria and your hotel, The Four Seasons. You might like to take a walk along the corniche or along San Stifanu Beach, close to your hotel.

Today, you have a full-day, privately guided tour of the significant sites in Alexandria, a city once a thriving metropolis and an interesting blend of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cultures. Your tour includes Pompey's Pillar, the Catacombs, the National Museum, and the Alexandria Library, which will provide an interesting overview of the city’s long and complex past as your guide explains what makes Alexandria so significant to Egypt’s history.

After breakfast, you'll be collected from your hotel in Alexandria and driven to Cairo International Airport for your onward flight. You are met on arrival by a local representative who will assist you in finding the correct departure gate for your onward flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
