Hotel Montalembert

Paris, France

A boutique design hotel in the heart of fashionable Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Hotel Montalembert exudes style and warmth. Opened in 1926, it was the first five star boutique hotel on the left bank of Paris and is just a short walk away from countless restaurants, cafés and independent design shops as well as in close proximity to the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay. As you enter you immediately feel welcome, a sensation mirrored by the intimate library and fireplace which are ideal spots for an apéritif in the evening, so too, are the first rate bar and restaurant.

Rooms and suites are all exceedingly chic in the contemporary Parisian style with sleek ebony furniture, minimalist designer lamps, parquet or carpeted flooring, fine fabrics and a soft palette with splashes of yellows, blues and oranges. Many of the rooms and suites boast balconies with views of Parisian rooftops or the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

OUR OPINION:

We love this hotel for its excellent balance of chic Parisian style with welcoming friendly service. Hotel Montalembert also boasts an enviable location in the very heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and all the trimmings of a remarkable five star boutique hotel.

Rooms

The hotel's sleek, minimalist but warmly welcoming rooms and suites feature dark woods, designer furniture and lighting, parquet floors or subtly patterned carpets, and a muted palette of greys accented by dusky blues or earthy ochres and reds. Many have balconies and impressive views of Paris. Bathrooms are lavish with a Carrara marble finish, stand-alone bath or shower. All rooms come with complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and air conditioning, while the Deluxe rooms and above are fitted with an espresso machine.

Location

Hotel Montalembert is ideally located close to the many fine restaurants, bustling bars and cafés, and stylish independent boutiques in the heart of the fashionable Saint-Germain-des-Prés district of Paris. Conveniently there is a metro stop just next door called Bac Montalembert, or you can easily walk over to the right bank and The Louvre or Musée d’Orsay.

Food and drink

The restaurant at Hotel Montalembert offers a wide range of seasonal fine-dining dishes in an elegant Parisian setting, including tasting or gourmet menus as well as healthy calorie-control options. The bar with its roaring log fire in the winter months or effortlessly vibrant and lively atmosphere in summer, is a perfect spot for an apéritif before dinner in the hotel restaurant or in one of the many bistros or gourmet options in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Facilities and activities

Hotel Montalembert is a family friendly place that offers VIK (very important kids) welcome packages and VID (very important dogs) packages.
