Pook's Hill Lodge is situated within a 750 hectare private rainforest reserve an hour from San Ignacio, on the site of an ancient Mayan ruin making it a perfect base to discover the sites and sounds this area of the country has to offer.
The surrounding forest is home to many Belizean mammals and there are some beautiful nature trails to discover. The 11 simple thatched cabanas surround the Maya site and overlook the forest canopy with the creek below, which provides a great cooling off spot.
The lodge is very much family run and the kitchen produces wonderful home-cooked food. Amongst the many activities offered by the lodge it is very close to the famous Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave, the most adventurous caving expedition in Belize.
