Kruisherenhotel

Kruisherenhotel

Formerly a 15th-century monastery, the Kruisherenhotel mixes chic modern design with the unmistakeable features of a Gothic church. The wide-open nave has been repurposed to include a reception area and a set of stairs that lead up to a dining room that seems to float under the barrel-vaulted ceilings of the old church; from the restaurant, you’ll be face-to-face with the massive Gothic windows.

The manicured grounds still retain the tranquillity of a monastery, and the old gardens have been transformed into a courtyard for guests. When the weather is warm, you can enjoy drinks and lunch out on the terrace, surrounded by the blackened stones of the church.

The 60 rooms are spread between the former monastery, the gatekeeper’s residence and newly constructed Casa Nova villa, though all the rooms have a modern feel.
