Rooms

The rooms are positioned around a pleasant courtyard, with numerous staircases dividing the levels and offering access to the restaurant. There are five room categories to choose from; we particularly recommend the Raj rooms, which have lake views, or any of the Pichola Suites, which also offer lake views and a little more space, as well as jharokhas (enclosed, overhanging balconies) for additional character. Accommodation is simple but comfortable, featuring en suite bathrooms and TVs, with traditional touches adding Rajasthani charm.

Location

Jagat Niwas is conveniently located in the Old City, close to Udaipur's City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. It’s also well located for browsing the many souvenir shops in the town, which specialise in miniature paintings.

Please note that on occasion, a local auto rickshaw may be used for the last part of the transfer to the hotel. Not only is this a fun way to travel around the inner-city of Udaipur, as the streets can be very crowded, but this is also the most convenient and fastest way of completing the transfer. If you'd prefer to do the transfer by car then just let your driver know and you'll proceed by vehicle.

Food and drink

The restaurant at Jagat Niwas offers superb views of the sun setting over the lake and out toward the Lake Palace hotel. It serves simple but tasty food, including Indian, Chinese and continental dishes, as well as a variety of drinks.

Facilities and activities

A laundry service is available, and relaxing Ayurvedic massages can be arranged, as well as folk dances and puppet shows.

Accessibility

Please note that there are a number of steps throughout the hotel, but you'll be rewarded with wonderful views from the restaurant and many of the rooms.
