Situated in the heart of the upper level of Ragusa, the De Stefano Palace is well located for exploring the surrounding town or walking downhill into the heart of Ragusa Ibla. The hotel itself is a converted period residence, with large vaulted ceilings and a dramatic arched entryway. The decor is luxurious, with sumptuous fabrics and modern design pieces throughout.
The historic nature of the property means the rooms are spread out across various different levels, but all are elegantly furnished and boast modern bathrooms and a complimentary minibar. On the second floor there is a charming little sun terrace, but the real highlight is the extensive spa complex.

Rooms
All the rooms at the De Stefano Palace are elegantly furnished and boast modern bathrooms. On the ground floor, a number of the rooms have towering vaulted ceilings and retain snippets of their original frescoes. The rest of the rooms are spread out throughout the hotel and come in a range of different sizes due to the historic nature of the property. A number also have their own balconies or terraces and offer views of either the surrounding streets or internal courtyard. For families we recommend the suites, all of which feature two separate bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
Location
Located in the heart of Ragusa and just a short walk from the main path down into the historic Ragusa Ibla area, the De Stefano Palace makes an excellent base. You’ll find a range of shops and restaurants right on the doorstep in the upper town if you don’t feel like venturing into the old town in the evening.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served each morning in the pleasant ground floor breakfast room, located off the inner courtyard. Exploring in the evening, you may want to take a taxi down into Ragusa Ibla or alternatively there are plenty of options right on the doorstep in the upper town.
Facilities and activities
A real highlight of the De Stefano Palace is the extensive spa complex, stocked with Bulgari products. Inside, you’ll find a luxurious saltwater Jacuzzi and chromotherapy hammam (Turkish bath) as well as a private massage room that is available for massages and other beauty treatments.
