Belmond Hotel Splendido
The elegant Belmond Hotel Splendido gracefully overlooks Portofino and offers the highest levels of service, impeccable elegance and plenty of luxury.
Nestled back behind Portofino’s bustling waterfront, Eight Hotel Portofino offers a luxuriously modern and stylish oasis within the confines of the tiny historic town. Beautifully appointed and filled with eye-catching design features, it’s clear great attention has been paid to every detail.
To the back of the hotel there’s a small private garden built into the surrounding hillside with a lovely deck area and Jacuzzi pool. In the morning, breakfast is served here and guests can relax under the trees. Portofino’s central square can be easily accessed in around five minutes on foot and there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby.
All the rooms at the Eight Hotel Portofino are beautifully furnished to the highest standard. Due to the nature of the property, some of the rooms are a little compact, but the overall layout and design make the hotel a wonderfully luxurious and intimate option. All rooms have chic, modern bathrooms with a choice of bathtub or shower. The larger Junior suites also have space to accommodate a third bed for children.
The Eight Hotel Portofino is well situated for exploring the town while offering a quiet and peaceful retreat from the busier areas. The central piazza is a short walk away and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. From the port, ferries regularly depart along the coastline to Santa Margherita and Rapallo to the north and San Fruttuoso Monastery and Camogli to the west.
Breakfast is served outside in the garden during the summer months or inside when the weather is cooler. The buffet is fresh and varied. While there’s no restaurant in the hotel itself, there are a number of excellent options close by. We recommend booking a table overlooking the sea at the hotel’s sister property in Paraggi, accessed by a complimentary shuttle service.
A separate buffet selection is laid out for children at breakfast.
There’s a small private garden behind the hotel with a lovely deck area and Jacuzzi. This intimate garden is the perfect place for enjoying breakfast.
What the Eight Hotel Portofino lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm and character. A boutique hotel to its core, we love the stylish design and fantastic service on offer here.
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favourite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
