The only major port in Slovenia, Koper brings together Croatian, Italian, and Slovenian culture. Climb the 200 steps of the bell tower in the Cathedral of Assumption for a sweeping panoramic view of the city. For a quaint stroll between shops and cafés, take to the cobbled streets of Cevljarska Ulica. For a culinary and cultural experience, join a trip to the villages of Piran and Istrian. Stroll through a traditional market to sample homemade food and local wines.
-
A seafront promenade welcomes you to Rovinj port. The Italian influence in Croatia's "Little Venice" is clear in the atmosphere, where working fishing boats and the cobbled old town streets add to the charm of the city. Indulge in luxurious gelato while browsing souvenir shops. You may join a trip to a local village winery, where you can taste fine red and white wines accompanied by homemade cheeses and local prosciutto. Take a dip in the sea among rocky coves before boarding your cruise in the evening.
-
Your first day at sea is an excellent opportunity to try out the amenities on your ship. Keep up your fitness routine in the gym, or rest and relax by the pool where an attendant will look after you. Finish up with a soak in the whirlpools before grabbing dinner and drinks under the stars at The Grill.
-
The high-walled fortress city of Dubrovnik is a dramatic site to behold as you head into this ancient port. Walk along the walls for a panoramic view of church spires, terracotta roofs, and winding stone streets. Visit the Dominican Monastery to view a collection of Renaissance paintings, or drop by the courtyard of the Rector's Palace for impressive stone carvings. Be sure to try gnocchi with truffle sauce before boarding your ship in the evening.
-
The historic port town of Bari is an excellent starting point for exploring beautiful Puglia. Bari itself has a charming old town district, where you can visit the impressive mosaics inside Cattedrale di San Sabino. Venturing beyond Bari, you'll find more ancient villages and sun-kissed beaches. You may wish to join a guide to Trani, a quaint seaside town with an elegant cathedral, and Bisceglie, where you'll partake in an olive oil tasting.
-
Nestled in the mountains overlooking the Adriatic, the approach to Kotor is one of the most impressive in Europe. Historical Venetian influence is reflected in the terracotta roofs and stone streets, particularly in the UNESCO World Heritage Site old town. The S.A.L.T. lab offers a farm and winery experience here, where you'll visit a family winery that has existed for over a century. After a welcome drink, enjoy a hands-on cooking class before lunch with wine and a tour.
-
The romantic city of Split welcomes you to the Dalmatian Coast. Dominating the scenery is Diocletian's Palace, an impressive ancient Roman palace and temple complex from the third century. The scale of the fortress is something to behold, the streets within alive with the buzz of bars and souvenir shops. Stalls in the old town offer artisan chocolate, fresh coffees, and dried figs.
-
Founded by Romans and run at points by Venetians, Austrians, French, and Italians, Zadar has a blended cultural footprint. This energetic city offers tasty treats in the shopping market, or you can take a short trip outside the walls to relax by roaring waterfalls or on sweeping beaches. There are several nearby treks down through steep canyons and up to summits with spectacular coastal vistas.
-
This morning, you will arrive in your final port and bid farewell to your Silversea cruise. Disembark and meet your driver in the port. You'll be taken to the train station for your onward journey to Milan, where you'll overnight on your way to Lake Como.
