Rooms

Each of the 96 bedrooms offers a private terrace featuring a plunge pool with views of the Pacific Ocean. Rooms are custom-made and beautifully appointed, with handcrafted Mexican details throughout.

All are air-conditioned, have a balcony, an interior sitting area with fireplace, bathroom with bathtub, rainforest and hand-held shower, wireless internet, LCD cable TV, iPod docking station, soft drinks minibar, tea and Nespresso coffee facilities. There is also 24-hour room service. The Resort at Pedregal’s suites provide the ultimate in luxury, with premium locations, enhanced facilities, and in some cases, personal service from the hotel’s major-domo.

Unique woodwork throughout the residence features distressed mesquite wood doors, with a distinctive nailhead detail, and hand-forged ironwork hinges and pulls in an antique finish. Luxury light fixtures throughout are decorative hand-forged, custom-designed iron fixtures from Mexico, with dimmer switches.

Suites provide a unique experience. In addition to the facilities of the Ocean View range of rooms, the larger suites have a number of bathrooms to match the number of bedrooms, and have a separate powder room. These suites have a kitchen with toaster, blender, utensils, and cookware, complete with professional stainless Viking appliances, including refrigerator, gas range, microwave and dishwasher, washer and dryer.

Location

On the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja peninsula, the hotel's clifftop setting is reached by a skilfully engineered tunnel carved 300 metres through the Mexican mountainside.

As private as could be wished, The Resort at Pedregal is still within comfortable walking distance of the town of Cabo, with access to international shops and restaurants, deep-sea fishing, world-class golf, and a range of other activities.

Food and drink

Don Manuel’s old-world Mexico restaurant in the main hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, emphasising locally grown organic produce.

El Farallon, in its cliffside setting, is open from 6am until 10pm to serve locally caught seafood. The Beach Club serves snacks and light meals from 11am to 6pm.

Families

The Resort at Pedregal is ideal for family holidays. Bedrooms can be arranged to give flexible and spacious accommodation, and suites give the ultimate in space and privacy. Babysitting services for newborns up to 12-year-olds are available.

Tortuguita’s Kids' Club for four- to 12-year-olds, is open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm. Reservations, to be made a day in advance, can be for a half-day, from 9am to 12 noon, or 1pm to 4pm, with a snack, or a full day from 9am to 4pm, with snacks and lunch.

A full programme of kids’ activities is arranged at the Beach Club to suit group sizes and the weather of the day. There is a kids’ film night every Tuesday at the Beach Club, with dinner, drinks and snacks.

Older children and young adults will find that they can take part in most, if not all, the many activities at the resort, either on their own or under supervision from qualified instructors where necessary.

Facilities and activities

The stunning Beach Club infinity pool is set right on the private beach overlooking the ocean. By the pool are deck chairs, umbrellas and breezy cabanas for a day’s relaxation. The Luna y Mar spa focusses on local wellness rituals aligned with the moon and ocean. Treatments are five-star and draw on native Baja traditions and local ingredients. There are complimentary yoga classes, access to a fitness centre and instructors and tennis lessons with an onsite professional.

One of the most luxurious properties in Mexico, offering consistently high standards of service and attention to detail. As with most beach hotels along the Baja Corridor, the beach itself, although fantastic, is unsuitable for swimming in the ocean.
