Te Arai Lodge is located in a spectacular setting overlooking the native bush with views of the rolling countryside all the way to the ocean. Here you are about a 90-minute drive from Auckland city centre and situated on the Northland border along the beautiful Mangawhai coast.

Each room is individually designed and has its own access and en suite. The property boasts a 20-metre long heated pool, cedar hot tub, yoga studio and stunning terraced garden. Make the most of the complimentary minibar and locally cooked dinner, which can be included into your stay at an additional cost.

The neighbouring towns of Te Arai and Mangawhai are just a 10-minute drive away and good options for dining.

Rooms

At Te Arai Lodge, there are three luxurious suites that are simple in decor but are comfy and inviting. The Kotare Cottage has views overlooking the organic gardens and the distant islands settled in the bay, where the Kereru Suite and the Ruru Barn look over the property's gardens and native podocarp forest. Each room has beds draped with stonewashed linen, an intimate gas fireplace, an outdoor bath, en suite bathrooms with underfloor heating, walk in shower, and a large bath accompanied by luxury Sans Ceuticals body products.

Location

Te Arai Lodge sits about a 90-minute drive from downtown Auckland and close to some of the top New Zealand beaches. The seaside village of Mangawhai is an eight-minute drive from the lodge and is where you can find a local pub, a small café and the Mangawhai chocolate factory. Alternatively, you can take a 40-minute drive to Matakana to visit their boutique shops, wineries and vibrant farmers' market.

Food and drink

Buffet breakfast is served daily in the dining room, outside on the terrace or in your suite. There is also the option to have a four-course dinner at the property if you pre-pay prior to your arrival. The dinner includes pre-dinner drinks, hors d’oeuvres, an entrée, dessert, a selection of premium New Zealand wines and evening tea and coffee. Alternatively, you can drive to Mangawhai where you can eat at a local pub or a small café.

Families

Not suitable for families unless renting the property as an exclusive use.

Honeymooners

The luxurious suites, outdoor baths, cedar hot tub, sauna and intimate dining makes this property perfect for honeymooners. The property can also arrange massages and beauty therapy treatments in the comfort of your suite.
