The 30 rooms, scattered across a clutch of Nordic cabins, have a traditional yet modern design. All provide you with views of either the forest or fjord, and many include balconies or terraces.

The Kitchen restaurant serves a menu that features fresh local fare, served in a quietly understated setting that allows the food and the views to take the spotlight. Here, you can browse the hotel’s extensive collection of cheeses from local producers and the locally brewed ale, Storfjordbrygg.

Spend your time here exploring the many hiking trails that surround you, or you can use the hotel’s various bicycles, snowshoes, kayaks, and even a small fishing boat. If you’re looking to fully unwind and relax, you also have access to the outdoor Jacuzzi and a selection of spa treatments.

Rooms

Inside and out, the hotel’s decor reflects its natural surroundings. The rooms feature gleaming bare wood, bedding in shades of grey and brown, and generous windows that frame views of the fjords or forest. Many also offer balconies or terraces with patio furniture, where you can linger on the views. There are seven room categories to choose from, but all have en suite bathrooms and Wi-Fi.

Location

Located 30-40 minutes outside Ålesund, this hotel overlooks Storfjord and the Sunmøre Alps, offering a great base for unwinding and exploring the lush forests and dark waters of the fjord. The turf roof and general construction allows the hotel to blend in with the surrounding countryside. You’re also just a short drive from Skodje Church and Norsk Møbelfaglig Senter, a museum dedicated to exploring the history and heritage of Norwegian furniture.
