Marktgasse Hotel

Marktgasse Hotel

Zürich, Switzerland

The Marktgasse Hotel provides a historic stay in the heart of Zürich’s old town. Its 600-year-old building stands out among the shops and cafés due to its bright-white façade and periwinkle shutters. The renovated interior is bright and modern, while retaining some of its original features such as fresco paintings on the lobby walls and parquet flooring in the rooms.

You can spend time in the hotel’s library and peruse the books lining the bright-red shelves, or walk two minutes to the nearby spa and fitness suite and take advantage of the Turkish bath, pool and mud room. There’s a contemporary café with outdoor seating, as well as a fine-dining restaurant run by a three-Michelin-star chef.

The hotel's 39 rooms range in size from small doubles to the spacious Marktgasse Suite.

OUR OPINION:

This is one of the best hotels in Zürich’s old town. We love its central location and the building’s long history, which gives it interesting features like original oak parquet flooring and stucco on walls.
