Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Bangkok.
-
On arrival in Bangkok, you will be met by your driver and guide and chauffeured to your accommodation for check-in. After your long-haul flight, spend the evening at your leisure to relax.
-
Spend the day exploring Thailand's capital on a unique city safari. Visit Lumpini Park, where locals practise t'ai chi in the morning, marvel at the opulence of the Grand Palace and traverse the backwater klongs (canals) to see the heart of the city at work. Using long-tail boats to the ultra-slick Skytrain to the ubiquitous tuk-tuk, you will explore areas of the city that most visitors never get to see.
-
Head out of Bangkok by train to Amphawa for an insight into the rural provinces. Visit authentic century-old floating markets set by the lunar calendar, cycle around the villages and fruit plantations and rise early to give alms to the monks. Time your visit to coincide with the lively Amphawa weekend market and spend your evening enjoying delicious, freshly cooked food among the locals before retiring to charming waterfront accommodation.
-
Travel to Kanchanaburi province and board your boat for a cruise along the River Kwai.
-
Today you will visit Prasat Muang Singh Historical Park before having a leisurely afternoon on board.
-
Spend the day exploring the Hell Fire Pass and Sai Yok Yai waterfalls.
-
Complete your cruise by visiting the Death Railway Museum and the Bridge on the River Kwai before returning to Bangkok. Upon returning to Bangkok, you will transfer to your riverside hotel, where you will have the afternoon free to explore at your leisure.
-
Board the Loy Dream and head toward Ayutthaya via Wat Arun and the Royal Barges Museum.
-
A further day of cruising visiting the temples of Ayutthaya and the Summer Palace.
-
Return to Bangkok where you disembark your cruise and head to the airport for your onward flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
