Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Bangkok.

  • Your guide will be waiting for you at Bangkok Airport and will accompany you on your private transfer to your boutique hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

  • This morning, your guide will take you to visit the less explored side of Bangkok as you explore the Klongs of Thonburi. With your guide, board a longtail boat as you pass by stilted houses built over the waterways, with stops at Wat Arun and the Royal Barges. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to discover Bangkok's shopping, temples and culinary experiences.

  • Having explored the key sights of Bangkok yesterday, today you will head to Ayutthaya with your guide. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Siam, Ayutthaya is now home to atmospheric ruins and ancient temples. Using the area's infamous 'Kermit' tuk-tuk transport, visit the ruins, temples and local quarters to sample the local delicacy of candy floss roti. Then, board a traditional rice barge in the afternoon, for a private lunch whilst cruising along Chaopraya River, taking in the historic scenery while you dine.

  • Today, you will continue to Kanchanaburi, a journey of approximately two hours. This area is renowned for its time during World War II when the Japanese used Allied POWs to build the Thailand-Burma Railway. You will gain an insight into this history with a private guided tour of the main points of interest: the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai and Hell Fire Pass. The tour includes a boat journey up the River Kwai and a train journey on the infamous Death Railway. In the evening you can relax in the lovely river setting of your hotel and enjoy the unique experience of staying in your own floating villa.

  • After breakfast, you will be driven to the Erawan National Park to take in the natural beauty of the Erawan Falls with its spectacular seven-tiered waterfall. Make sure you bring your swimming costume if you fancy a dip.

  • Today, you will head to Khao Yai National Park with your guide, a journey of around three to four hours. One of Thailand's oldest national parks, and home to resident elephants and a host of wild flora and fauna. Once settled at your hotel, you will start your exploration of the park with an evening spectacle of bats emerging for the evening feed. Witness thousands of bats fly into the air while enjoying a sundowner.

  • After breakfast, head on a 3 km walk through the main forest to scout for resident wildlife, visit a main watering hole and discover the hidden Heow Suwat Waterfalls along your route. A local lunch is included before returning back to the hotel for some respite. Then in the evening, there's one last opportunity for wildlife spotting, as you jump on a ranger truck for an evening safari.

  • The beach part of your trip starts today. Your guide will join you for your private transfer to the pier where you will catch your boat across to Koh Samet. The whole journey will take around four hours. Koh Samet is a small peaceful island located within the Gulf of Thailand. It has beautiful white sandy beaches and is a great place to relax before heading home.

  • Day at leisure. You may like to use your hotel's spa or take a fishing boat around the island.

  • Today will be your last day by the beach before you head home.

  • You will be transferred by speedboat to the mainland where a private vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Bangkok Airport in time for your international flight home. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
