This is a modern, Chinese built hotel situated on the outskirts of this busy town and a good base to explore the nearby Tashilhunpo Monastery, which is a 20- to 30-minute walk away.
The rooms offer en suite facilities and the hotel itself is one of the best in Tibet. For Shigatse, this hotel represents the lap of luxury. It offers reasonable rooms with attached bathrooms of a simple standard and a good restaurant, although the town has many others. The rooms are both Western and Tibetan in style, but the beds in the Tibetan-style rooms are very hard and uncomfortable for those not used to it.
