The Oberoi Marrakesh

The Oberoi Marrakesh

Marrakesh, Morocco

Located around half an hour’s drive from Djemaa el Fna square, The Oberoi Marrakesh is set among its own picturesque gardens, orchards and olive groves, with views to the Atlas Mountains. The building itself is designed to be reminiscent of a Moroccan palace, taking inspiration from Medersa Ben Youssef — the ancient Islamic college in Marrakesh — and incorporates elaborately carved stone doorways, intricate tile work and reflective pools.

The 84 spacious rooms and villas have an elegant style, with high ceilings, wooden floors and ornate wall carvings framing the beds. Each room includes a private terrace overlooking the gardens and the deluxe villas include their own private pools.

There is also a large, outdoor pool for all guests to use, a luxurious spa and three restaurants offering Moroccan and international cuisine as well as a bar with panoramic views over the Atlas Mountains.

We love this hotel because it provides a peaceful oasis, among the olive groves, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Food and drink

Breakfast can be enjoyed overlooking the High Atlas Mountains in Tamimt, one of three restaurants at The Oberoi Marrakesh, serving Mediterranean and international cuisine. Azur, the hotel’s pool restaurant, serves light and healthy meals throughout the day. For dinner, there is a choice between Tamimt, which serves international dishes and the Oberoi’s famous curry menu each evening or Siniman, which serves authentic Moroccan cuisine, and overlooks the outdoor patio, inspired by Medersa Ben Youssef. There is also the Vue bar, which serves an extensive range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, perfect for a relaxed evening.
