Hacienda Concepcion is a mere 35-minute boat ride from Puerto Maldonado. The lodge itself sits by a natural, private "Cocha" or lake and is home to rich ecosystems, tropical plants and some beautiful wildlife.
The lodge offers eight standard rooms in a central house, all comfortably furnished with ceiling fan and en suite bathrooms with hot water. The tropical gardens house seven individual cabañas which are similar in standard but offer more privacy.
Like its sister lodge, Reserva Amazónica, it does not necessarily offer the same potential for wildlife viewing opportunities as the more rustic lodges much deeper into the reserve, but is a comfortable and family friendly option for those looking for a general introduction to Peru's Southern Amazon.
