Sandoval Lake Lodge

Sandoval Lake Lodge, Southern Amazon, Peru

Located deep in Peru’s Tambopata Amazon Reserve, this lodge is situated by Sandoval Lake (the only lodge in the Tambopata Reserve to be located on the banks of a protected oxbow lake) which is reputed to be one of the most wildlife-rich lakes in the reserve. The lodge has 25 double rooms with private bathrooms, a dining area and communal areas with hammocks. All rooms are protected with mosquito screens over window openings and individual mosquito nets over each bed. The lodge is owned by a non-profit making conservation group and five families of indigenous Brazil nut collectors.
