Visit Can Tho, Vietnam

Can Tho is a bustling city on the banks of the Mekong River and the provincial capital of the Mekong Delta.

A large bridge crossing the river marks the entrance to the city and within its limits you'll find a wealth of activity ranging from markets and street food vendors to quirky museums and cafes. Due to the development of the road network in the surrounding area, the once famed floating markets have shrunk dramatically but still make for an interesting visit albeit among swathes of other tourists.

Small industries such as noodle workshops and family-run cacao farms have survived and many open their doors to curious visitors. The city boasts some of the region’s most luxurious hotels and as such provides a great place to unwind after a few days exploring the greater Mekong region. Perhaps once considered the perfect base for exploring it now serves as a convenient hub or indulgent relaxation destination. The airport in Can Tho serves a few major cities across Vietnam and many shorter cruises arrive or depart from here.
