Rooms
The tented rooms, including two family suites, are situated along the riverbank, away from the central boma, which is undoubtedly the lodge's focal point. All the tents are perched on their own private deck with river views, some boasting outdoor showers and others outdoor bathtubs, and the family suites are fully enclosed. There's also an exclusive-use house that features a small private pool, an expansive deck overlooking the river, and private guides and staff.
Location
Ila Safari Lodge is set on the eastern banks of the Kafue River out in the wilds of Kafue National Park. This prime location offers expansive access to the national park as well as prime wildlife viewing opportunities right from the camp’s main area and infinity pool.
Food and drink
The dining area at Ila Safari Lodge is set in the infinity-shaped boma on the edge of the Kafue River, providing guests with beautiful views during mealtimes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served on a flexible schedule that revolves around activities. Guests will enjoy international fusion food with a local influence.
Facilities and activities
The covered lounge and dining areas are linked by an open-air terrace. A fire pit area and an infinity pool with panoramic views across the Kafue River offer additional space to sit back and take in the scenery. The lodge also features a gym and a separate, unique floating spa housed on a pontoon that sits on the river.
Your days on safari from Ila Safari Lodge include a wide range of activities to explore the park and all it has to offer. The lodge has three open vehicles for morning, afternoon, and early evening wildlife drives. Walking safaris are also on offer and tend to head out in the morning before the temperatures get too high, following animal trails, footprints, and spoor in search of their owners.
Longer boat cruises are available first thing in the morning as the sun rises and floods the bush in golden light. Sunset cruises drift quietly downstream, absorbing the scenery and allowing you to spot animals coming to drink and bathe with a refreshing sundowner drink in hand.
