Responsible Choice
Designed to resemble the weaverbird nests dotted around the plains, Chisa Busanga Camp offers a unique experience from a literal bird’s eye view.
The unique landscape in this remote corner of Zambia only further enhances what will be an unforgettable stay.
Continuing the camp’s focus on sustainability, wildlife drives are offered in open-sided electric vehicles. Guided walks and e-mountain bike safaris are also available, and keep your footprint in this ecosystem minimal.

Rooms
Iconic nests are raised off the ground and, while whimsical in design, are still luxuriously furnished. The open-fronted rooms are equipped with a large bed, en suite bathroom, and a private outdoor deck with fabulous views across the surrounding plains. In colder months, thick duvets and hot water bottles are provided. One room is accessible by elevator for those with mobility problems.
Location
The camp is set on an island in the flooded grasslands of the Busanga Plains in the north of Kafue National Park. This watery ecosystem is rich in birdlife. As the dry season comes into full swing, other wildlife can move about more easily and congregate around the remaining water.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served by the fire pit before you head out on your morning activity. Lunch is served upon return, and afternoon tea is served just before your afternoon activity. Dinners are served in the central boma.
Facilities and activities
Activities from Chisa Busanga Camp focus on morning, afternoon, and night wildlife drives in open 4x4s. The Busanga Plains are vast and interspersed with islands of fig trees, a favourite of the tree-climbing lions. Unusually, there’s also the opportunity to explore this area on a mountain bike with a guide, as well as walking safaris.
