Kapamba, South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Kapamba Bushcamp is situated deep within the South Luangwa park and forms part of the Kapamba Trail which is a wonderful walking trail following the Kapamba River. It is a beautiful camp in a stunning location with excellent views over the Kapamba River, where you can enjoy paddling and even on some occasions can provide the location for a sundowner, in your deck chair, in the evenings.
The main camp is centred in a thatch and stone chitenje, where guests can relax on the large deck in the afternoons before sharing safari stories over dinner and around the fire. The camp has stone and thatched rooms which are open to views over the river. They are stone on three sides - with sliding metal spider web effect frames, on the other. These allow you to see right out in the day and these are then closed over in the evenings to keep the larger animals out and mosquito nets are provided over each of the beds to protect you from the smaller creatures. Each chalet has its own open sided bathroom complete with a very large stone tub (which fills in a couple of minutes) and hot running water.
At night you sometimes get a couple of small frogs in the bathroom that will sit and watch you clean your teeth. The bedrooms have large comfy beds and you have your own veranda which is the prefect place to relax and enjoy the view. Both walks and game drives available from Kapamba.
