-
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Santiago.
-
Arrive into Santiago after your international flight. From the airport you will have a private transfer into the city and take a half day tour of Santiago to get acquainted with the city.
-
This morning you will have a private transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Punta Arenas. Once in Punta Arenas you will be met by a representative from your all-inclusive lodge and transferred with other guests into Torres del Paine National Park.
-
Today you will be out exploring the highlights of Torres del Paine. Excursions can range from gentle walks to full day treks. Horseback riding and more cultural outings can also be arranged.
-
Trekking is a highlight of any visit to Torres del Paine. You can opt for something on the easy side like taking the Paine Mountain Path or full day treks that will take you to the base of the famous towers.
-
A shared transfer across the border into Argentina will be arranged by the lodge. You will be dropped off at your hotel in El Calafate and have the afternoon and evening at your leisure.
-
Leave the town and spend the day on a working estancia on the Patagonian steppe, where you will learn about the people who call Patagonia home. Of course, no visit would be complete without a traditional asado.
-
This morning you will have a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. Upon arrival you will have another private transfer to your hotel. The afternoon has been left at your leisure in anticipation of the journey ahead, but Tierra del Fuego offers plenty in the way of exploration, and excursions can be arranged.
-
Enjoy some free time in the morning to explore the city before you board the ship and set sail along the Beagle Channel. Settle in to your cabin.
-
You will enter the Drake Passage at around 2am, and the day will be spent making your way across this notorious stretch of water. Surprisingly, an amazing amount of wildlife can be seen on the way, with wandering albatross, Wilson’s petrel and even blue whales present.
-
You'll come to the end of the Drake Passage and start to spot the first icebergs as you approach the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.
-
This day will be made up of shore landings and excursions on the Antarctic Peninsula and nearby islands such as Petermann, Livingston and Deception. There will generally be two excursions per day.
-
Today you'll hopefully have your first encounter with a penguin colony. Depending on the season you may see them building their nests, guarding their eggs, or raising their newborn chicks.
-
You may also have the chance to camp on the ice, go kayaking or even snorkelling or diving. More and more adventure options are being added to Antarctic expeditions so please do ask if you are interested.
-
Zodiac cruises are a staple of any Antarctic expedition and will get you up close with icebergs, shipwrecks, and wildlife.
-
Start crossing back over the Drake Passage. Take the opportunity to stand on deck to take in your last glimpses of Antarctica, and try and check off any more wildlife that remains to be seen.
-
At sea crossing the Drake Passage. The ship's crew will be holding numerous lectures and screenings throughout the day.
