The Ranee is one of Kuching's few boutique properties, located in the centre of the city's Old Town. Formerly a 19th century shop house, the hotel tastefully combines contemporary style with warm, colonial touches in relaxed spaces, such as The Reading Lounge.
As well as its Standard, Deluxe and Executive suites, some of which have balconies, the Ranee also offers a choice of individually designed suites with features such as luxurious and freestanding bathtubs, private verandas, and walk-in dressing areas.
All-day dining is offered at MBar&Bistro along with a selection of cocktails and beers, while guests can also relax during the day at Café Trio's, serving coffee, tea and lighter snacks.
This is a great little hotel for those who wish to stay within the cultural part of the city, and be fully immersed on what Kuching has to offer.

Rooms
Each of the 24 rooms and suites are different in their layout and features, but all with the same ambience which is also felt throughout the hotel. The stone bathrooms and wooden furniture creates a great level of polished “rustic” and are perfectly lifted by the pops of modern design. Each room does have a view; be it of the streets, roofs and people going about their day, or the internal terraces overlooking the open-plan walkway.
Location
Set within the cultural heart of Kuching, Ranee is right on the edge of some of the best markets on India Street. Within walking distance are a whole host of shops and market stalls selling local trinkets and food, restaurants and shopping malls, as well as the beautiful Chinese temples which include the oldest one in the area.
Food and drink
The single restaurant at the hotel also serves as a bar and provides à la carte dining for all the meals, and serves a mixture of Eurasian dishes, including local recommendations.
