Indulge in the multicultural tastes of Vancouver on this small-group walking tour through the city’s Gastown District.

With its location in the Pacific Rim, Vancouver affords gastronomic influences from around the globe. One of the best culinary districts of Vancouver is Gastown, the city’s birthplace, where there’s a large collection and variety of restaurants and eateries. On this afternoon tour, you’ll discover some of the best the district has to offer, meet local restaurateurs, hear community stories, and, of course, indulge in the food.

Your three-hour tour begins in the mid-afternoon, ensuring you don’t need to find a restaurant for dinner afterwards as you’ll be full from the plentiful tastings on the tour. You’ll meet your guide and the rest of your small-group, before setting off on a walk through the neighbourhood. As you go between restaurants, your local guide will tell you about the key sights and history of the area.

On the journey you’ll have more than eight tastings of varying culinary influences, with many being sit-down locations. Your tastings will all be complimented by drinks pairings, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Tastings can include beer tartare, a classic Bomba tiramisu, pizza, mushroom cabbage rolls, seafood tostada and potato dill perogies.

The tour company is owned and run by minority women, and supports a non-profit called ‘Employ to Empower’ to help those facing work and social barriers to gain the confidence to help others.
