Breathe in the alpine air as you stroll through the tree canopy with views of the mountains and Whistler.
Climb into the cedar, hemlock and fir trees of one of Whistler’s last old-growth forest on a journey through the treetops on a network of suspension bridges, boardwalks, forest trails, and observation platforms. Along the way, you learn more about local alpine ecology, and stop for vistas of the surrounding mountains and the river valley below from your experienced guide.
Operating year round, your tour begins in the town of Whistler, where you meet your guide and the rest of your small group. You’re then taken by shuttle about ten minutes to the basecamp on Blackcomb Mountain to begin your adventure. As you journey between the trees, you’ll see the difference between the ancient, old-growth forest, and the second generation forest present.
On each observation platform, you can learn more about the trees, local wildlife, mountains, and ecology from information plaques, and your guide will dive into the details further. Your guide will also share how the course through the trees was built to be as unobstructive as possible, something important to this ‘eco-tour’ company. The tour lasts between 90 minutes and two hours, and finishes back in Whistler’s downtown area.
