Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Cuzco.

  • Arrive in Cuzco and transfer to your hotel in the heart of the historic centre. Sample some superb Peruvian cuisine tonight at one of the city's great restaurants.

  • Spend the day exploring Cuzco and some of the ruins that surround the city. Over the course of the day, you will gain insight into the city's storied history, from the time of the Inca to the modern day.

  • Travel by road out of Cuzco and into the picturesque Sacred Valley of the Incas, enjoying a private guided tour of the key sights such as the Písac Market and ruins, and the fortress town of Ollantaytambo. Spend the night in the valley.

  • Transfer to the station to board your train to Aguas Calientes, the small town at the foot of Machu Picchu. This afternoon, take a private guided tour of the magnificent Inca citadel.

  • Free morning to explore Machu Picchu again at your own leisure. Should you wish to climb one of the surrounding mountains, we can book that for you. Take the train back to Cuzco this afternoon, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

  • Transfer to the airport in time for your flight to the Iguaçu Falls, via Lima. Here you will be met and taken to your hotel.

  • Enjoy a private guided tour of the Argentine side of the spectacular Iguaçu Falls. The walkways within the park allow you to get up close to this incredible natural phenomenon.

  • Free morning to visit the viewing platforms on the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Falls before taking an afternoon flight to Rio de Janeiro. Enjoy the evening in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

  • Today take an exciting full-day jeep tour of Rio's highlights, including a trip up Sugarloaf Mountain and the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer. There is also time to see the tranquil botanical gardens.

  • Free day to further explore Rio — we recommend taking a stroll along perhaps the most famous beach in the world, Copacabana. If you want to see a little more of the city we could arrange further tours — you could take a street art tour or try a typical cookery class.

  • Transfer to Rio Airport in time for your onward international flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
