Yoshigaura (Lamp no Yado) Onsen

A hidden gem and a rare treat, Yoshigaura is nestled in the cliff face and surrounded by forests, sweeping down to the water's edge. This hot spring spa is one of the best in Japan and it certainly won us over when we visited it. It is secluded and remote — perfect for a real break from the norm!

Rooms have a terrace straight onto the sea, with your own private outdoor bath. This ancient property boasts everything one would expect from traditional Japanese inn accommodation, with dark polished wood hallways and spacious tatami rooms. The meals are exquisite and all staff are friendly and helpful. There are spa treatments and an infinity swimming pool. English is spoken.
