Rooms

There are a mixture of Tented Suites and Forest rooms at Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa. Tented Suites are canvas and joined by wooden walkways. The suites are fully air conditioned and have either river or bush views. All suites also have a private deck where you can relax with a refreshing drink while you read a book.

Forest rooms are timber suites featuring a fully opening veranda which extends onto the private deck. Rooms look out onto the surrounding forest and all rooms are fully air conditioned with in-room bathtubs and furniture created from locally sourced timber.

There is also an exclusive use property called the Farm House which is recommended for small groups or families. The Farm House is self-catering (catering can be arranged on request for an additional supplement). The house has one double room and two twin rooms which can also be converted to double rooms. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans and the children's room has bunk beds. The Farm House also has its own private swimming pool and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.

Location

Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa is located in the town of Hazyview, a gateway town into the Kruger National Park. The closest airport is Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, however Skukuza and Hoedspruit Airports are just a few miles further away. The area is a great base to explore the Panorama Route which is home to the Blyde River Canyon.

Food and drink

Breakfast and lunch is served at Summerfields River Café. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, homemade artisan bread, vegetable juices and a choice of hot breakfast items which are cooked to order. The lunch menu is a mixture of tapas-style dishes which are a mixture of free-range meats. Vegetarian dishes are also available on request.

Dinners are served at Summerfields Kitchen. All vegetables are hand-picked from the property’s vegetable garden. The restaurant is fine dining and menus are à la carte with a blend of local and international dishes.

Families

The Farm House is a recommended option available to families. There is also a wide range of family-friendly activities on offer in the area.

Facilities and activities

The property has a spa which features three spa rooms and a Jacuzzi. There is also a shared swimming pool on-site and a wide range activities on offer both on the farm and in the town. Farm activities include park runs, rose tours, macadamia tours and farm tours. Activities in the local area include morning and afternoon shared drives in the Kruger National Park, scenic helicopter flights, archery and mountain biking.
