Hotel Aigua Blava
The decor evokes the fresh, natural hues found in the surrounding bay and is complemented by natural light and views over the water. Bathrooms feature white, ceramic-tile walls, floors made from either sleek wood or patterned stone tiles, and either a bathtub or a shower. Rooms offer amenities such as air conditioning, TVs and free Wi-Fi, and higher room categories also have balconies and terraces. There are also a number of family rooms available with two separate bedrooms.
The hotel enjoys a peaceful location overlooking a quiet bay and offers easy access to coastal walking trails and a variety of water sports. There is a small beach right next to the hotel — reception is happy to lend towels — or you may wish to venture into the medieval streets of nearby Begur, just a ten minute drive away. If you wish to explore further, Girona is an hour’s drive, while you can reach Barcelona in less than two hours.
Food and drink
Highly rated among restaurants on the Costa Brava, the Restaurante Aigua Blava serves typical Catalan cuisine featuring plenty of fresh fish. The restaurant overlooks the bay and has a terrace with a separate menu which can be enjoyed in fine weather, as well as a poolside dining area, La Rocalla, which serves buffets and dishes from a grill menu during the summer.
Special rooms are available for families and there are plenty of child-friendly amenities including a children’s playground and babysitting services.
Facilities and activities
There are plenty of outdoor activities at Hotel Aigua Blava including a seawater swimming pool surrounded by sunloungers and a pool bar. There is also a volleyball court, floodlit tennis court, table-tennis and gardens to explore. Inside, guests can take advantage of a beauty salon with hairdressing and massage services. The hotel will also lend bicycles for riding into Begur or can arrange boat trips around the bay.
Offering some of the best views in the Costa Brava, we find the Aigua Blava Hotel to be a great spot to unwind while at the same time remaining within easy striking distance of Barcelona.
