The camp has an attractive, open sided reception and restaurant under thatch on a large raised platform overlooking the Tarangire River. When you're not out on safari, you can cool off in the swimming pool, relax on the veranda of your tent or chat with fellow guests in the comfortable lounge. There's also a large deck and fire pit for convivial pre- or post-dinner drinks. Inside, the tents are elegantly furnished and offer plenty of space and natural light, providing a charming retreat in this wildlife-rich area.
The spacious tents have been placed on large raised wooden platforms under a thatched roof, giving excellent views over the Maasai plains, the forest and on a clear day even Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Inside they're simply but stylishly decorated, featuring en suite flush toilets and showers and 24 hour electricity. The tents come in three categories: Standard Safari rooms, Family Safari rooms and a Deluxe Safari room. Standard and Deluxe Safari rooms both have a four poster bed and private furnished balcony, with the Deluxe Safari room offering views of the river, an outdoor shower and bath as well as an indoor shower. It's also built around a large baobab tree, giving it extra character. The Family Safari rooms have a king size bed and either two or three single beds.
Based 3.5 kilometres from Tarangire’s main entrance gate and park headquarters, this camp is well positioned for taking morning and afternoon game drives into the northern half of the park.
Food and Drink
The food here is simple and presented buffet style for breakfast, whilst both lunch and supper are set menus.
Families can be accommodated in the camp's Family Safari room tents, which have space for either a family of four or a family of five.
Facilities and Activities
The camp has an elevated lounge and fireplace on which to relax and socialise after a day of game viewing. No guided activities are offered from camp, and most guests arrive with a driver guide and their own vehicle in which they will do all their game driving.
This is a comfortable tented camp, in a good position with great views. The tents have big verandas that are perfect for enjoying the shade on hot afternoons between game drives. This is a good base for taking full day game drives into Tarangire, where a variety of exciting wildlife awaits.
