The hotel offers four rooms choices, each designed in a modern style with Thai touches, and all with an en suite bathroom. The Urban rooms are the smallest and look over the tree-lined Phra Arthit Road. They can be set up with a king or twin beds. The Riva rooms are slightly smaller king rooms but offer lovely views of the riverside, making them perfect for couples. The Deluxe Riva rooms offer more space and the choice of a king or twin beds, plus a balcony overlooking the Chao Phraya River, while the Premium Riva rooms provide similar facilities over a larger space.
The Riva Surya is around ten minutes’ walk from the famous Khao San Road, with a wide selection of dining options in the surrounding area and close to the Bangkok National Museum and Democracy Monument. The river ferry terminal (Phra Arthit) is nearby, from which you can catch boats along the Chao Phraya to many of Bangkok's highlights including the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Asiatique night bazaar.
Food and Drink
Breakfast each morning can be enjoyed outside or inside the modern restaurant, with a wide selection of Asian and continental delicacies on offer as well as fresh tropical fruits and hot drinks. The babble and rum restaurant offers western and Thai dishes throughout the day, while freshly-made cocktails and snacks can be enjoyed at The Garden or in the elevated Mezzanine Bar.
Interconnecting rooms are available for each room category, making the Riva Surya very accessible for families with children of all ages. The swimming pool also has a shallow children’s section for younger guests to enjoy during their stay.
Facilities and Activities
The Riva Surya’s oval swimming pool overlooking the Chao Phraya River is perfect for cooling off after a day in the bustling heat of central Bangkok, with a shallow children's pool attached for younger guests. There's also a well-equipped gym, two restaurants and a mezzanine bar for sunset cocktails.
The leisure facilities, restaurants and rooms are all wheelchair accessible, with lifts to all floors.
The Riva Surya is a friendly and stylish hotel, and in our opinion one of the best located boutique properties in Bangkok. The breakfast spread is excellent and the riverside pool and terrace perfect after a days’ sightseeing.
