Kalkan is a picturesque harbour town on the aptly-named Turquoise Coast.

Despite having changed from a fishing village into a fairly upmarket tourist town in the mid-20th century, the town is still characterful and enjoyable to explore. It has varied and numerous dining options, especially on the streets surrounding the harbour, which are full with restaurants and bars.

Kekova sunken cityAlthough the town does not have a beach there are rocky bays or decking from which to swim. There is plenty to do around the area, with Lycian rock tombs, an ancient underwater city close by and a variety of outdoor activities on offer, including walking and cycling.

Taking a boat trip around the local coastline and coves is highly recommended.
