Due to the current political situation between Russia and Ukraine, it is not possible to travel in certain areas of Ukraine at the moment. Also, as flights are not operating between Russia and Ukraine at the moment, we are not currently able to combine these two countries in a trip.
Visit Lviv, Ukraine
Lviv, 'the Florence of the East', has been ruled by a multitude of other nationalities - Poles, Lithuanians, Austrians and Russians. Despite, or perhaps because of this, it is the most Ukrainian of Ukraine's cities - the home of Ukrainian nationalism with a beautifully preserved historic centre.
The succession of foreign rulers left behind a bewitching mix of neoclassical, rococo, baroque, Renaissance and Gothic architecture, which, unlike many other cities in the area was spared the devastation of World War II. The UNESCO world heritage old town is perfect for strolling round, while taking in the view from High Castle Hill is a must.
Lviv is a beautiful city, just waiting to be discovered.
