Due to the current political situation between Russia and Ukraine, it is not possible to travel in certain areas of Ukraine at the moment. Also, as flights are not operating between Russia and Ukraine at the moment, we are not currently able to combine these two countries in a trip.
Visit Yalta, Ukraine
Playground of the Russian aristocracy in the 19th century, workers paradise in the 20th century, and New Russian hangout in the 21st, Yalta has had many incarnations. Its location is stunning, and the slight tackiness of the town is more than made up for by its good-time energy.
The town has had many famous residents and visitors - Chekhov spent his later years here, receiving Tolstoy, being entertained by Rachmaninov and writing The Cherry Orchard and Three Sisters.
Nearby in the Livadia Palace, the future of Europe was decided by Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt - decisions whose ramifications continue to echo down the years. Whether you are looking for sunshine, mountain scenery, or history, Yalta can offer them all, and is well worth a visit.
