The InterContinental Jordan is a great option for exploring Amman, located close to the downtown area and Rainbow Street, which has a wide choice of restaurants and cafes.
Boasting grand and contemporary décor, there are a variety of room types to choose from, all of which are modern and comfortable. The hotel has great facilities, including an indoor and outdoor pool and six restaurants. You can relax at the spa or sip a coffee in the café following a day spent discovering the area's many highlights.
The hotel offers several different room and suite categories, all with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi (additional charge in some cases), safes, minibars, tea/coffee making facilities and soundproofed windows. The entry-level Classic rooms are 32 square meters in size and have views over the city, while Executive rooms offer an additional four square meters of living space along with access to the Club Lounge, where guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast, complimentary hot drinks, free Wi-Fi access and a happy hour on alcoholic beverages. The six suite categories are significantly more spacious, ranging in size between 76 and 220 square meters, with the larger options boasting their own kitchenettes and dining rooms.
Unlike many of the other chain hotels in Amman, the InterContinental Jordan is located in the vicinity of Rainbow Street, on the road between 2nd Circle and 3rd Circle. This position means the restaurants and cafés of Rainbow Street and Downtown are just a short taxi-ride or 25-30 minute walk away.
The breakfast buffet is served in the Atrium, while for dinner the hotel boasts three á la carte restaurants serving Indian, Lebanese and Mexican cuisines. There are also café and lounge areas where you can enjoy a light snack or a drink.
The hotel provides an indoor and an outdoor heated pool, a 24 hour gym and numerous fitness classes. Guests also have access to the spa, which offer complimentary use of the sauna, steam room and whirlpool.
The hotel offers a number of accessible guest rooms with ADA compliant features such as wheelchair accessible closets, light switches and doors, bedroom cords for use in emergencies and grab bars in the bathrooms. Elevators are fully accessible and located close to the accessible rooms, and the hotel entrance, restaurants and public restrooms are accessible. Wheelchair accessible parking is also available.
Although this is a larger international hotel, it's still one of our favorites. It offers great value and has an excellent location compared to many of the other hotels in Amman, which are often located within the business district.
