Already well-renowned for its cuisine, the Viewpoint has extended its facilities to include accommodation. Nestled between rice paddies and the main tributary leading from Nyaung Shwe to Inle Lake, the lodge has been sensitively built using local materials such as limestone, wood, mud and rice straw.
The 20 Cottage Suites are built on stilts in landscaped water gardens overlooking a mountain backdrop and are furnished to a high level ensuring that traditional style does not compromise guests' comfort. The rooms combine modern amenities, including wireless internet, flat screen televisions and separate lounge areas, with more traditional, hand-crafted teak furniture and eco-friendly elements such as a natural minibar and double-insulated windows. The Viewpoint Restaurant serves some of the best food in the region, but the main town is within reach should you wish to venture further afield.
