Rooms
Rooms are spread across two listed buildings. Although rooms are newer and slightly more standardized in the more recent extension, rooms in the original building offer more character and views over the impressive Examination Schools opposite. All rooms have fresh, contemporary decor and a feature headboard, depicting a well-known Oxford landmark. Privilege rooms include a Nespresso machine and complimentary soft drinks, and most include a bath as well as a shower. All room categories feature TVs, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Location
The Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel is located at the end of the high street, overlooking Magdalen College. The Examination Schools and the Ruskin School of Art are just a couple of minutes from the botanic gardens and Christchurch Meadow.
Food and drink
The Library Lounge and Bar is a welcoming, open space decorated with Alice in Wonderland images. A buffet and à la carte breakfast is served in Marco’s New York Italian restaurant, which is located in the oldest part of the hotel and owned by acclaimed chef Marco Pierre White. The restaurant also serves a classic Italian menu for lunch and dinner.
