The Arden Hotel

Stratford-upon-Avon, The UK

This boutique hotel set in a 17th-century red brick manor has a convenient central location opposite the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and overlooking the picturesque River Avon. Inside, it combines period detail with contemporary decor and has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

The hotel’s 45 rooms are individually styled with classic furnishings combined with modern artwork and bold fabrics. Views overlook either the hotel grounds, the River Avon or the RSC.

The award-winning Waterside Brasserie serves a menu revolving around seasonal ingredients from local artisan providers while the intimate Lounge is ideal for afternoon tea. Connections to the RSC abound and the sophisticated Club Bar is decorated with portraits of famous performers. All dining venues can open onto the outdoor terrace which overlooks the river.

Although in places the rooms have a slightly corporate feel, the communal areas are elegant and stylish and the views from the outdoor terrace make this one of our preferred options in Stratford.
