  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Detroit. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel which is located in the heart of the city. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy.

  • Spend a day exploring 'Motor City' and learning of the industrial and musical heritage that put Detroit on the map. Visit the Ford Plant and take a guided tour of the factory or visit the Detroit Institute of Art. This evening, you may wish to visit one of the city's many craft breweries.

  • Enjoy another day in Detroit with tickets to the Motown Museum. Home to plenty of photographs, artifacts and interesting exhibits all about Motowns legacy, the museum offers an extensive history lesson.

  • Today, you will pick up your hire car from the downtown depot and drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Upon arrival, settle into your room and enjoy views of glistening Lake Michigan from your balcony.

  • You have a full day to explore the shoreline. Climb dunes and admire the views of Glen Lake from the top, drive the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive and visit the quaint town of Leland, a historic fishing village on the waterfront.

  • Leave Sleeping Bear Dunes behind and drive north past Grand Traverse Bay to Mackinaw City. Here, you will drop off your car and take a ferry over to the car-free Mackinac Island where you will spend the next three nights.

There are no vehicles allowed on the island, so you have to get around on foot or by bicycle – both of which make for easy and pleasant exploring.
